Meet Our Chapter Officers
ALEX GLEN – Road Captain
As part of the Road Crew team I help plan and source a variety of rides for Chapter Members to enjoy during the riding season, normally April to early October.
I hope to see you either on a ride-out or at one of the many Chapter events.
Always happy to talk if you need information about the Chapter, Riding or Rallies; please just ask, if I can’t answer i’ll be my best to point you in the right direction.
A little bit about me: I’ve always loved motorbikes and my dad’s garage always had three or four motorbikes in it. My dad had raced in Isle of Man TT. From this, he had a limp due to a couple crashes, so my Mother banned me from ever having a motorbike. So in January 1978 bought a Triumph T110 in the pub, a rolling frame and three boxes with the rest of the bike in them. By June 1978 I was on road and on my first solo European bike trip thanks to my Dad building the Triumph with a little help from me. By the way, my mother was ok about this after about a week of silence ;0).
Years later I took the classic break from motorbiking to have a great family and I took on other hobbies like hillwalking, caravanning, sailing and even golf.
In 2004, it was back to bikes with my big Orange 883 XR Harley-Davidson Sportster. And the best part – I joined Dunedin Chapter.
Five Harleys later having ridden Harley-Davidson bikes in the USA and all across Europe, I am still here having great adventures with great people. But this time it’s on a Harley-Davidson. It is the way to go.
